Are You Still Thinking Your Leads Will Come From Conferences?

Are you still thinking that this year most of your leads are going to come from conferences?

As the CEO and co-founder of Amplified NOW, a content and marketing strategy firm for people looking to grow their presence online, I’d like to give you another option for getting leads.

The Conference Method

Before the COVID-19 Pandemic, conferences were standard operating practice for many industries and companies. For years, conferences were the means for your potential clients to find you and to gather solid leads.

The formula was simple—you knew what you would have to spend to participate in the conference, how much materials would cost, and how much to factor in for travel. You also knew what percentage of new business you could typically plan to convert from year to year.

Before the turmoil that resulted from the pandemic, you probably didn’t see any reason to change this method.

A New Way Forward

We all panicked when the entire world shut down. Even as things are getting better and re-opening, I would argue that we are not going to see the same level of attendance at conferences that we have seen in the past. Many people are just too nervous to travel right now.

Also, because everybody has gotten comfortable online, maybe your target is just never going to come across your booth at a conference. We have learned new ways of conducting business over the last year, and some of those new ideas will stick around. Using online formats for things we used to believe could only be done in person is likely to be the new normal.

Now, if you’re a fan of conferences, that’s the bad news.
The good news is online is so much cheaper!

Think about what you’ve spent in the past on your conferences — on the booth, sponsorship logo in the program, or whatever it is that you’re spending. With digital marketing, for just a fraction of what you used to spend, you’ll begin to see good results!

Digital Marketing

The new way of marketing yourself and your business involves building a digital marketing engine that you can just turn on whenever you need to.

Think of it as your digital conference booth.

It could be a blog, website, software, app, product giveaway, or a free trial. It should help you build momentum toward convincing people to purchase whatever you have to offer and buy into you as a person and a brand.

Whatever method you chose it should be an easy way for potential clients to see what you do.

Instead of waiting for things to improve and conferences to begin again, think about how many new clients could you gain, and how much could you grow if you started creating and marketing some digital content right now?

There are so many fun and creative ways to attract people and show them what you have to offer online. There is a whole world of potential clients out there that can easily find you with just the click of a mouse or the swipe of a screen. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to reach those people.

We Can Help!

If you’ve been intimidated by digital marketing in the past, let me reassure you that it’s not nearly as hard as you think it is. And, it’s not nearly as expensive as booth rentals, conference sponsorships, and travel.

I’d love to chat with you about how Amplified NOW can help you get started. Visit us here to book a call. We would love to chat with you and help you build a roadmap that gets you more attention now, with or without conferences.
